Balance, limits, and billing

Understand account balance, API key limits, and token usage.

Three separate concepts

  • Account balance: funds available to your account, as shown in the billing entry.
  • API key allowance: a usage limit on one key. Raising this limit does not add funds to the account.
  • Token usage: input and output processed by a model, not a fixed monetary amount. Models, groups, caching, and request types may use different pricing rules.

Prices and payments

Check the prices and applicable group in the model entry. Currency, payment methods, minimum amounts, and offers depend on the current account and order. Changing the interface language does not change your account or billing arrangement.

Use only the payment or contact options offered by the console. If self-service payment is unavailable, do not pay through an unverified link. Verify both payment status and credited balance before retrying a payment.

Insufficient allowance

Check account balance, key allowance, expiry, and organization permissions. A key restriction can block calls even when the account has funds. After correcting it, make one small request rather than repeatedly retrying the same error.

Reconcile usage

Compare timestamps, models, usage, and actual charges in usage logs. Estimates are informational; actual records and bills take precedence. Submitting a website registration form does not itself credit an account, create a key, or guarantee usable allowance.
